The Washington Environmental Alliance for Voter Education trains citizens and organizations in the basic techniques of effective participation in the electoral system for the purpose of furthering conservation goals. The grant supports the organization's overall operations, including efforts to expand the reserve fund. $25,000 is dedicated to a project, in conjunction with other statewide conservation organizations, that will assess the needs of county-level conservation groups in Washington State working on issues such as Smart Growth, clean air, clean water, and land use protection and, where possible, promote capacity-building activities.
