The Tides Center is the fiscal sponsor for Environmental Media Services, an organization that serves as a resource for journalists, nonprofit groups, and experts working to improve and expand the depth and breadth of media coverage on environmental and public health issues impacting the West. A grant in the amount of $80,000 supports the work of Environmental Media Services West. A second grant in the amount of $25,000 supports a project to focus the media spotlight on efforts to alter or rescind environmental laws, from the Endangered Species Act to the Clean Water Act, to national energy policy, and more.
