Rainforest Action Network employs social and economic pressure to shift destructive logging practices towards sustainability and bring protection to the world's old growth forests. The grant supports a project to protect remaining old growth forests by eliminating the use of old growth wood in the US home-building and construction industries, shift the industry toward use of sustainable alternatives, and work with corporations to pressure local and regional governments to protect forest lands and ecosystems.
