1000 Friends of Washington seeks to maintain viable urban, suburban, and rural communities in Washington State through responsible growth management. 1000 Friends of Washington serves as the fiscal sponsor for the Livable Communities Coalition. The Coalition promotes healthy, equitable, and sustainable communities in Central Puget Sound, primarily King County. The grant provides support to the organization to promote Smart Growth solutions in King County. $10,000 is awarded as a one-to-one board challenge grant for new and expanded contributions from individual donors and member groups.
