Dawn Watch is committed to the cleanup of a defunct uranium mill site located 35 miles north of Spokane, Washington, that was formerly operated by the Dawn Mining Company. The grant supports the challenge of a decision to allow Dawn Mining to import low-level radioactive waste to use as fill dirt as part of its site cleanup efforts, as well as public outreach and education regarding the potential impact on the nearby Spokane Tribe.
